'The Signature Collection'
To present your products in a professional and distinctive way, Gefken has the EDGE ‘The Signature case’. A stylish customized aluminum presentation case where the bended aluminum profile provides the exclusive look. Various premium brands, from Quooker to Samsung and from FritsJurgens to Ultimaker, already present their products in it. All have chosen the EDGE case because of its high-end design, luxurious appearance and outstanding quality. For this very reason we have created a special EDGE Signature Collection, so that there are even more possibilities to match the cases to the brand or the products presented in them!
New possibilities for the EDGE aluminum presentation case
The EDGE presentation case consists of a bended aluminum frame and panels with an HPL top layer. The aluminum profiles of the EDGE have always been anodized or powder coated. But for “The Signature Collection” some special options have been added here, such as champagne, corten steel, sand-colored metallic fine texture and matte anthracite. Also for the HPL top layer, we have gone a step further and have a set of unique material combinations, such as uni colors in extra matte, wood and marble look, as well as leather look and robust stone look. All designs can be seen in contemporary design interiors and architecture that we also drew inspiration from for the presentation case. To put together this exclusive collection, we worked with the partners involved EUROLACKE, Alulox and DecoLegno.
DecoLegno
DecoLegno is a wholesaler that stocks an extensive collection of decorative board material. Their mission is to help interior architects, designers and builders as well as furniture makers create and develop quality, sustainable and budget-friendly interiors and furniture concepts. DecoLegno is exclusive distributor of the Italian brand Cleaf. The various true-to-nature decors and tactile structures make the product almost indistinguishable from the real material. Materials such as wood, leather, concrete, marble and woven textiles, as well as velvety smooth variants in solid colors are available.

HPL collection
Kees Jan Veerbeek (sales account manager at DecoLegno) has mainly had an advisory role. After Gefken Cases requested advice on the material and color use of the case, Kees Jan visited Gefken Cases on location. Then Diego Noriega (Commercial Director at Gefken Cases) visited the showroom of DecoLegno in Westzaan and together they looked at what the requirements were. The sheet materials are presented in the showroom in different formats so that one can really see and feel the decors and structures. It is also possible to take samples in A4 format. With these samples Diego went out to determine the colors of the powder coatings and anodizing of the aluminum profile. For the selection of the powder coating colors, Gefken worked together with EUROLACKE, for the anodizing with Alulox.
EUROLACKE powder coatings
EUROLACKE represents ALESTA® powder coatings (from Axalta Coating Systems) in the Netherlands and Germany. EUROLACKE started in 1984, and since that time close cooperation has developed with the powder coating plants in Germany, France, England and Sweden. The cooperation with Prisma Coatings, which actually processes the powder coatings on the aluminum profiles of the EDGE case, also goes back many years. Powder coating is a particularly interesting and versatile product. Whether decorative products or functional powder coatings, EUROLACKE has activities in virtually every industry including facade construction, interior construction, architecture, automotive, shipbuilding and agriculture.
See, feel and experience colors!
After Gefken Cases approached EUROLACKE to put together a collection, the wishes, possibilities and especially the expectations were first inventoried. Then Diego visited the Colour Experience Center where there is a color wall with more than 3000 different colors. Here the many possibilities in powder coating were shown, such as the different gloss levels, fine and coarse textures, metallics, hammer coatings and clearcoats. Also at EUROLACKE it is possible to receive color samples of the selected colors.
Based on a.o. quality, availability and of course the external characteristics, Gefken Cases together with Caroline Reedijk (coating advisor at EUROLACKE) and Miranda van Hoogdalem (marketing) made a selection of colors to match the different HPL finishes. This resulted in a great and balanced collection of five “evergreens,” such as white fine textured and matte anthracite. In addition, five trend colors were also chosen, such as corten steel and a sand-colored metallic fine texture.

Decorative anodizing
The aluminum frame can be anodized instead of powder-coated. Anodizing preserves the natural look of the aluminum. This can be done in a natural (clear) finish, but also in different colors, although the color options are more limited than powder coating. For “The Signature Collection”, together with our partner Alulox, we have also added some special options for anodizing. Think of champagne and gold color. And, of course, it remains possible to choose the panels of the EDGE in traditional brand colors. For this we still have Abet Laminati‘s well-known collection of more than 100 uni colors in the range.
The Signature Collection
A total of no less than 15 “colors” are possible for the aluminum frame, which can be combined with 32 HPL top layers for the panels. With this we want to inspire and challenge our customers to create an appropriate atmosphere for the products presented with the cases. For a beauty brand we can now combine presentation cases with a soft metallic liver color aluminum frame with a beautiful matte white marble HPL. For the introduction of products with an industrial look, presentation cases with, for example, a bronze-colored frame combined with an HPL with the look and feel of robust stone or dark wood are an amazing combination.

Our European dealers have such a presentation case full of samples of all materials so they can look at the ‘mix and match’ possibilities with you. We also have a sample frame of every color in our showroom as well as sample panels of almost all HPLs that fit into it. So the various combinations can also be seen as a complete case. And of course, as always in our quotation process, we make lifelike 3D renders of the case. This includes any printing and interior once the color choice has been made.
